Location: Germany is located in Central Europe and borders the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. It is also between the Netherlands and Poland and is just south of Denmark.

 

Climate: Germany has a temperate and marine climate. It has cool, cloudy, wet winters. Summers are generally mild and affected by warm mount winds called foehn.

 

Religion: The majority of the population is either Protestant (34%) or Roman Catholic (34%). There is also a small Muslim population. Nearly as many citizens are unaffiliated with any religion as are Catholics or Protestants.

 

Entry and Exit: Germany has more than five hundred airports.

 

Non-resident stay: Visas are not required for tourist or business stays of up to 90 days. Anyone staying over 183 days in a twelve-month period is considered a tax-resident of Germany. Buying a home or leasing a home for over three months also qualifies one as a German tax resident. Non-residents are only taxed on their German earned income while German residents are taxed on world-wide income regardless of its origin.
