The Cayman Islands
Privacy
At this time the government of the Cayman Islands has signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement as well as a Mutual Assistance Treaty with the United States. In addition to this, the government of the Cayman Islands is a full participant in the European Union Savings Directive and has agreed to share personal information with other nations. As such, the Cayman Islands does not offer a high level of privacy for either American or European citizens nor does it necessarily protect the assets of American citizens. In short the Cayman Islands apparently has not made the protection of its foreign investors’ privacy a priority.
